Susan had the pleasure to chat with Daphnie Summers, artist, writer, and survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Daphnie’s college studies in psychology deepened her understanding of trauma along with her committed journey to her own healing. Daphnie had the chance to attend the Saprea retreat, a program designed specifically for women who have experienced childhood sexual trauma. While there, she participated in a Kintsugi bowl exercise which allowed her to see how putting back together the broken parts of a ceramic bowl can provide a greater understanding of how her own broken parts are also reassembled.
