In this bonus episode, Karin talks with Cashel Campbell.
Cashel in her own words:
Cashel Campbell’s passion for Mental Health Awareness and Sexual Assault/Abuse Recovery has encouraged the career she has built alongside her creative endeavors. In 2018 she created Feel Heal Dance, an integrative psychotherapy private practice that she maintains as a Board Certified & Licensed Psychotherapist in New York City.

She was the first African American Dance/Movement Psychotherapist at Rikers Island, working first hand with the jail’s mental health population. With over 10 years of experience in emotional/somatic discovery, Cashel Campbell leads with compassion & empathy, while encouraging skill building & positive self esteem throughout the therapeutic process. An often keynote speaker, guest faculty member (Pratt Institute & Adelphi University) & Board Certified Clinical Supervisor, Cashel finds pleasure in supporting patients, clients & graduate students towards finding emotional wellness through creative expression, aimed towards individual & collective deep healing.

The span of Cashel Campbell’s career has & continues to be centered around her desire for all people, especially BIPOC individuals, to have access to creative autonomy, authenticity & community. She has shared her work & ideas within community spaces, libraries, dance studios, artistic institutions & corporate settings. In the summer of 2021, she was notably published as a poet/author in New World Theatre’s all Black anthology: 08:46. Her current creative desires include pursuing a career in film more vigorously & continuing to bring artists, people & communities together, with the centralized hope of creating more space for discovery, inclusivity & compassion through the arts.
