In this episode we welcome Jay Mohr to the show. Most known for his wide body of work in Hollywood (Saturday Night Live, Jerry Maguire, Last Comic Standing, Mohr Stories) Jay is no stranger to dealing with mental health issues. We have a candid conversation about his struggles with addiction, his panic attack on SNL, guidance from Sarah Silverman on seeking treatment, and his recent bipolar diagnosis. We are grateful that Jay is helping us have these must needed conversations about mental health and stigma with humor and heart.
Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, is a mental illness that brings severe high and low moods and changes in sleep, energy, thinking, and behavior. People who have bipolar disorder can have periods in which they feel overly happy and energized and other periods of feeling very sad, hopeless, and sluggish.
