In case you missed the memo, I’m a bit of a mushroom junkie. (I mean, I drink so much Four Sigmatic Mushrooms blends I could turn into a mushroom…omg yes, I just came up with my Halloween costume!) Anyway, given my deep and undying love for the functional fungi, it felt ultra organic to bring shroom-extraordinaire Danielle Ryan Broida onto my show.

Danielle is hella connected with nature in ways I’m deeply inspired by: she’s a raw food chef, herbalist, mycologist, holistic nutritionist and an avid gardener. Arguably, she’s more of a plant-partier than me. In this convo she even said that she became a vegetarian at age eight, grows as much of her own food as possible, and of all the guests I’ve had on the show, she has probably come up with the most interesting ways of consuming plants. (Hence why I call her a mad scientist.) After hearing from Danielle, I bet your button mushrooms that you’ll be adding all these Harry Potter sounding shroomy spells to your diet.

Press play to hear:

  • A conversation about connecting to food and nature
  • The difference between functional mushrooms and your regular grocery store portobellos
  • The best plants to add to your garden
  • Herbs to sneak into your diet to have you feeling amazing
  • Your shroom myths busted
  • Ways to eat mushrooms from the expert who eats five pounds a week
  • How to make your own herbal tincture
  • Crazy stories on wellness from an international traveller
