Welcome back to Life's a Wreck (it's been a minute). I've been working on this podcast for the past five months and finally get to share it with all of you. It's been an experimental podcast for me as I look forward to what the future may hold for Life's a Wreck and let me promise you it has been a ton of fun piecing together. The entirety of this episode is inspired by the future. The future of me, of this pod and of the mental health care system in Canada. I was inspired to create this episode while listening to an episode of Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History. The episode was on experiments and specifically what magical experiments experts in various fields would do to vastly advance their understanding of their work. I wondered "huh what would this look like for mental health" and the concept for this pod and its new sound was born.
In this episode, you'll hear from:
The Scientific Director of the Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics (CAMH) Dr. Sean Hill, Canada's first EVER Federal Minister of Mental Health and Addiction The Honourable Dr. Carolyn Bennett, and the Executive Director of the Canadian Mental Health Association's Nova Scotia chapter Karn Nichols. Prominent voices in the mental health space, all coming together to discuss what the future of mental health looks like in Canada. Kick back and relax for a much-anticipated episode of Life's a Wreck.
Special thanks to:
