Strength in the face of adversity with Chef Chris Scott: Chef Chris is a Season 15 Top Chef finalist, restaurant owner, sought-after spokesperson, James Beard award winner-- the list goes on. What sets him apart is how he doesn't see these accolades as his true life work or worth. As an African American in a society that perpetuates subtle and screaming racism, Chris was generous in his open conversation with Elysia and Mara about both the big and small ways we need to collectively adjust our world to truly accept the *real* reality. Chris is passionate about telling the story of African American history and culture through every dish he makes, he walks away from those who attempt to silence him. He doesn't preach, he doesn't condemn, he speaks the truth about his reality and the world's but also jokes around with our hosts, tells stories about his family and reminds us why despite the accolades he is relatable in every sense. Now sober for 7 years, a loving husband to wife Eugenie Woo, and father of 4, Chef Chris Scott is the voice of reason and truth that we all need to hold on to in this time of revolution.
