Friend….I love Christmas cookies. Today is cookie baking day in my house and my countertops are currently packed full of bags of flour, cookie cutouts, sprinkles, and chocolate…it’s like a collection of all the “naughty” items sitting there staring at me …calling my name!!
Know what my favorite part of today will be? Not sneaking bites of frosting or “sampling” the goodies…nope! My favorite part of today is the chaos that ensues when my kitchen is packed full of all of the people I love! Christmas music blasting in the background, everyone laughing and tapping into their creative baking skills…my heart will be full of joy and happiness. That is the magic of this time of year.

I will be present. I will soak up every second of happiness. I will make memories today. It’s not about the cookies or the treats- it's family….and that is my FAV!

Over the past several weeks, my client coaching sessions have focused a lot on how hard it is this time of year to be “healthy” and the struggles they face in making good nutrition choices. Since it was coming up almost every session, I thought- this is a good podcast topic!

Here’s the hard truth- it doesn't matter if it’s the holidays, spring break, summer cookout season, or fall comfort foods time .... there are always obstacles in our way.

Food is the hard part.

Being your own health advocate is hard….and one of those underappreciated and unglorified roles …but it’s the role of your lifetime! There are always challenges for us to face- the time of year is just a time of year - how you choose to tackle your plan for being healthy and strong- winter spring summer or fall - how you chose to tackle the hard -now that my friend is something for us to chat about today!
