How easily we forget! Raw milk has been part of the human diet for thousands of years, yet only after a century of introducing pasteurization, many people think that the only way to consume milk is to pasteurize it first. Our raw milk heritage is getting lost. But thanks to farmers and activists who believe in the value of raw milk and who are brave enough to fight against the establishment, raw milk is coming back. From being legal in only 27 states in the 1990s, raw milk is now legal in all but 7 states and more people are consuming it every day. In today's episode, Pete Kennedy, lawyer and defender of food freedom, explains the history of the raw milk movement, what's left to be done, and what we can do to be a part of it all!
