In today’s episode of The Universe Is Your Therapist, Dr. Amy Hoyt and licensed therapist Leina Hoyt, MFT discusses the way we respond to trauma in order to survive. These survival skills become engrained and eventually become our coping mechanisms in times of stress throughout our lives. Some of these coping styles are helpful (adaptive) and some of these coping strategies no longer serve us and are maladaptive. Join them as they discuss how to know if your coping strategies are helping or hurting you and what to do about them as you continue along your trauma healing journey.
