The health consequences of drug abuse can be severe and long-lasting, and can include physical and mental health problems such as heart disease, stroke, liver damage, respiratory problems, cancer, anxiety, depression, and addiction.

When trying to motivate someone to avoid drug abuse, it can be helpful to emphasize the negative effects that drugs can have on their health, relationships, and future goals. It can also be helpful to offer support and resources for them to make positive changes, such as counseling, support groups, or alternative activities to replace drug use.
