Note- Yes, I got emotional again introducing Nina. It happened on the first episode I did with her, I kept it together on the other two, but this one got me again. This amazing woman's work has had such a profound influence in my personal life, my career, and on this podcast that I started in 2020. Meeting her in-person last year was such an honor.
Thank you Nina, so very much.
Now, onto the proper introduction-
Nina Teicholz, PhD, is a returning guest on our show! Be sure to check out her first three appearances on Boundless Body Radio, on episode 50, episode 258, and episode 347 of our show!
Nina Teicholz, PhD, is a science journalist and author of the New York Times bestselling The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat, and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet, which upended the conventional wisdom on dietary fat–especially saturated fat—and spurred a new conversation about whether these fats in fact cause heart disease.
Named a *Best Book* of the year by the Economist, Wall Street Journal and Mother Jones, among others, it continues to be called a must-read for anyone seeking to understand the amazing story of how we came to believe fat is bad for health—and what a better diet might look like.
Nina is also the founder of the Nutrition Coalition, a non-profit working to ensure that nutrition policy reflects a transparent process and is evidence-based. Teicholz is a graduate of Stanford and Oxford Universities and previously served as associate director of the Center for Globalization and Sustainable Development at Columbia University.
She is publishing amazing Substack articles titled Unsettled Science, along with former guest Gary Taubes, which I can't recommend enough!!
