UPDATE: there was an oversight on my part in this episode! when I discuss safe consumption of alcohol, I shared information that has since been updated in the past month. the new federal alcohol guidelines reflect that drinking less is the safest choice to decrease risks from alcohol.
0 drinks per week: no risk, and better health overall;
1-2 drinks per week: low risk, and you will likely avoid alcohol-related risks and consequences;
3-6 drinks per week: moderate risk, and your risk of developing several different types of cancer increases;
7+ drinks per week: increasingly high risk, and your risk of heart disease and stroke increases
