When food is constantly taking over your life and becoming the foundation of every thought, feeling, and desire, Dr. Glenn Livingston gets it.

Dr. Livingston experienced the obsession with food during a time in his life which ultimately led him into his work that he does now.

Along with consulting Big Pharma and Big Foods companies which he is embarrassed about now, Dr. Livingston ran a study of over 40,000 people and he discovered three interesting diagnostic criteria:

  1. Those who struggle with chocolate tend to be lonely or broken-hearted. Fix the hole in your heart to overcome this.
  2. If you crave salty, crunchy foods, you are most likely stressed at work or in your environment.
  3. When you crave soft, starchy foods like bread and bagels, you are most likely stressed at home.

Dr. Livingston learned a great deal when he asked his mom about his eating behavior as a child. He learned that he had a mother who was emotionally unable to help, so pointed Glenn to the chocolate syrup on the floor of the pantry and he would suck on the lid and go into a sugar coma.

In this interview, Dr. Livingston shares with Coach Kristy Jo how foods are designed to find your bliss point without satisfying the nutrient needs of natural-occurring foods. They short-circuit the pleasure centers by putting an electrode into the brain an allowing them

People think advertising doesn’t affect them, but it does. There are 5,000 messages about food over the airwaves and internet and maybe half dozen are about eating more fruits and vegetables.

"We’re conditioned to think something is wrong with us if we have struggles with eating, and the truth is that while you’re getting the message from the culture that it’s genetics or this is a disease, the truth is there is a perfect storm of trillions of dollars against us. Let’s turn shame into anger," he says."

You CAN solve your binge-eating problem very quickly.

You have to stop diet shopping, and you’re not going to find the grass is greener on the other side. It’s greener where you water it.
