Mari Fong interviews Emma Lov (Loote) and Andrea Vassilev (Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance, DBSA, San Gabriel Valley). EMMA LOV OF LOOTE, who co-wrote with Demi Lovato and Cheat Codes, and remixed the Shawn Mendes’ song “Mercy,” shares her story of PANIC ATTACKS & PANIC DISORDER. Starting therapy after surviving the 9/11 terrorists attacks in NYC, Lov experienced her first panic attack at age 12 as the school nurse tried to convince her it was just “gas.” Lov talks about her sister and psychiatrist who both contracted coronavirus, and how she’s dealt with her long-time psychiatrist eventually dying of COVID-19. The COPING SKILLS FOR PANIC ATTACKS before or during a performance and the NERDY THINGS THAT MAKE HER HAPPY. Things you can do to make a bad day turn into a good day. How USING HER "NO" BOUNDARY helps keeps her sane, and why MAINTAINING GOOD MENTAL HEALTH is so important for her. Andrea Vassilev, support leader for the Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance and doctoral student in Clinical Psychology explains the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PANIC ATTACKS & PANIC DISORDER and how learning COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY (CBT) is a good long-term solution for the condition. The importance of HAVING SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE in your life and the benefits of GROUP THERAPY SUPPORT. We end with a clip of Loote’s single "THIS IS HOW U FEEL" from their “HEART EYES” EP.
