I sat down with a buddy of mine, Joe Tanner. We've been friends for years and didn't know until about three months ago that he has suffered with depression for a huge part of his life.

A big theme of this episode is surrounding yourself with people you can talk to and opening up about the struggle of mental illness. Most people will find that people really care for your well being. The more we open up about this not only helps us find resources and clarity but also assists in destroying the stigma that is quickly going away.

We talk sympathy vs empathy. We talk parenting as a dad with depression and anxiety and the trials in that, wanting to be the best parent you can. We talk about parenting in a way that allows space for your kids to open up if they're struggling with mental illness.

We talk about how social media plays on our weaknesses of “I’m not good enough”, comparing yourself to others and instant gratification that instantly goes away.

We're grateful to partner up with Better Help. Go too BetterHelp.com/inmyhead for one free week of online therapy

And head to cbdMD.com for all the best CBD products. Enter the promo code IMH15 for 15% off your entire order.
