Often the diagnosing process of eating disorders can feel like clients are being labeled or judged. Meredith and Jill discuss the importance of diagnosing a client, what criteria (basic) to look for specifically for those with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. Properly diagnosing a client allows the clinician to know what treatment modalities are most evidenced based. Is the dietitian allowed to diagnose? Should you tell a client what eating disorder they might be struggling with? What are ways clients restrict when they have anorexia nervosa? These are just a few questions that will be touched on in this episode!
