The theory of structural dissociation proposes that patients with complex trauma-related disorders are characterized by a division of their personalities into different prototypical parts.
Complex trauma can arise in any situation where you feel an ongoing sense of fear, horror, helplessness, or powerlessness over an extended period of time, with the perceived or actual inability to escape.
Structural Dissociation Theory can help you heal and integrate the parts of self that are having negative reactions.
