One of the most frustrating things about Western medicine is feeling like you’re not being listened to – or, in some cases, being told that your doctor can’t do anything at all to help you.

After Dr. Tenesha Wards contracted Lyme disease at a young age, she searched for a way to bring the ailment under control – and was thrust into the field of health and wellness.

Dr. Wards is the founder of the Infinity Wellness Center in Austin, Texas, and The Energy Recovery System Online Functional Medicine Coaching Program. She is a holistic doctor who concentrates on chronic fatigue, GI issues, women’s hormone issues (from pre and post-menopausal to infertility), fibromyalgia, headaches, burnout, and insomnia.

Dr. Wards’ holistic approach to wellness means that she specializes in finding and correcting core root causes to problems, drawing from her personal struggles with Lyme disease, auto immunity, and Epstein-Barr virus. Her experiences fueled her to find and help people heal near and far.

In today’s episode, we are doing a deep dive into Lyme disease, exploring the myths and misconceptions, why it can be so hard to diagnose, and the first steps to take if you think you might have it.
