Eating Disorders are a huge part of our world. Whether it be Binge Eating, Food Addiction, Bulimia, Anorexia — this is a topic that gets swept under the rug a lot but really needs to be addressed!!

So, today, I sit down with Dr. Carolyn Coker Ross, who is known for bringing creativity and wisdom to her work and for offering hope to individuals and families struggling with addictions and eating disorders. She is an internationally known author, speaker, and expert in using Integrative Medicine for the treatment of eating disorders, binge eating, compulsive overeating, and addiction. She is board-certified in Preventive Medicine and Addiction Medicine and is a graduate of Andrew Weil’s fellowship in Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Ross is also the author of three books, the newest of which is The Food Addiction Recovery Workbook. And, as with any addiction, there is no magic surgery or supplement that will solve it — you have to get to the root cause of the addiction and address it there so that the symptoms go away.

There isn’t necessarily a group like Narcotics Anonymous if you or someone in your life is struggling with food addiction or an eating disorder, but there are resources you can use. Dr. Ross’ books are a great place to start, but you might also want to look at her Anchor Program, a proven holistic approach helps people uncover the fundamental reasons behind their food and body image issues and empowers them to address the issue in lasting ways.

The Anchor Program is a 12-week, online, non-diet approach to changing your lifestyle, reducing emotional eating and binge eating. It is a unique whole-person approach to restoring your joy in eating. You can learn more at www.anchorprogram.com.
