Asthma is a condition that affects the airways in the lungs. During attacks, the airways inflame and produce extra mucous, making it difficult to breathe. Pregnancy can worsen symptoms, especially during the second trimester. Research has shown that if not properly managed, asthma during pregnancy, can lead to preeclampsia.
