#462: Transparency and Accountability in Drug Safety with Kim Witczak
Manage episode 438168134 series 3239656
Are we given true informed consent with every drug we are offered? Are the known side effects always disclosed? It would be nice to think so, but the truth is, Big Pharma and the FDA actually go to great lengths to keep us in the dark about certain truths that can harm us because they harm their bottom line. On this episode of Vitality Radio, Jared invites Kim Witczak to join him in an important discussion about this issue. After the sudden death of her husband due to an undisclosed side effect of an antidepressant, Kim Witczak became an advocate for pharmaceutical drug safety and reform. Jared and Kim discuss the impact antidepressants have on suicide and violence. As Kim says, healthcare is a business, and we are customers. She is not anti-drug but pro-information and she continues to stand up to the Big Pharma and FDA machines to demand honesty, transparency, reform and accountability - for all of us.
