Here are some statistics you may have not known about binge eating:

  • Binge eating disorder is more than three times more common than anorexia and bulimia combined.
  • Research estimates that only 28.4% of people with current BED are receiving treatment for their disorder
  • And also… Three out of ten individuals looking for weight loss treatments show signs of BED.

I wanted to record this episode because I feel like binge eating has become a term thrown out a lot, often used by people to emphasize how much they ate. Some of these people have BED, some of them experience episodes of binge eating and some do not binge eating in any way, it’s more so used to emphasize that they ate more than their norm or more than they are comfortable with.

Listen to today’s episode to learn more about what exactly is binge eaitng. And next week we will dig in even more with 5 steps to stop binge eating!

And if you are someone who is currently struggling with the diet-binge cycle or food obsession, I want you to know you deserve support and healing now.

And I’d love to invite you to join our winter cohort of Food & Body Peace Playbook to get you that support and healing.
