Dr. Bret Contreras is a personal trainer who popularized the barbell hip thrust exercise. Not only did Dr. Contreras successfully use the exercise to help many of the female figure competitors he works with prepare for their competitions, BUT he also studied the benefits of the exercise as he worked on his PhD.
